What is Nitrous Oxide?
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) is a safe way to relax during any dental procedure. Nitrous Oxide is mixed with Oxygen to help you relax. The use of the Nitrous Oxide is called conscious sedation.
Nitrous oxide is not used to put you to sleep. You are able to hear and respond to any questions or directions the dentist may have for you. It is safe for you to drive yourself to and from your dental appointment. The effects of the Nitrous Oxide will be gone a few minutes after you stop using the laughing gas.
